I set up a play tent for Colin in the backyard yesterday. We still have to seam the turf together but at least the kids can go out in the back without being in the dirt!

Lightning Strikes!

Mother Nature added another sight to see at the Oquirrh Mountain Temple, Saturday.

As weekend rain and lighting storms moved across the Salt Lake Valley, one strike took a path through the Angel Moroni's golden horn en route to the ground. Steve Allison, a resident of South Jordan who lives near the temple said lightning was dropping in the area Saturday and Sunday it was obvious lightning had struck the temple's unofficial lightning rod. Dolls from the Past

While cleaning out the garage this morning to make room for the turf that my brother is bringing up (so we can store it until we are ready to lay it down), I found a storage bin labeled "Krista's dolls." I opened it up and inside were all my Cabbage Patch Dolls and other dolls I had as a little girl. We're talking dolls that are 25-30 years old! I know that the Cabbage Patch Dolls are at least 25 years old. Katie has a "Newborn" Cabbage Patch Doll that she got as a Christmas present the year she was born and we finally opened it up last Christmas. I also found some play food, play bottles, and other accessories and she loves playing with them and pretending to feed the babies! I just had to get pictures of Katie with my old Cabbage Patch Dolls.


This was my first Cabbage Patch Doll. I guess the red hair was a sign of things to come! Her name is Georgia Kathleen, which ironically is the same EXACT name of my niece (Mike's sister's daughter)!

Just Katie

Grandma McCarthy made this dress for Katie. It has little watermelons on it. So cute! She made a matching dress for her Cabbage Patch Doll (will get a photo of both of them together wearing the dresses when I find the doll!). She also made a matching purse."Can I please take this off now?" After a while she forgot about wanting to take the dress off.

Because one sippy cup is just not enough!

Another attempt at making her hair look cute with a ponytail complete with bow. The red "rashy" area on the back of her head/neck is a birthmark. Her doctor said it will never go away and, I quote, "guess she won't ever be able to wear her hair in a ponytail." Not if I can help it! It is a part of Katie and I think it is adorable!

Katie takes after her brother. She loves to look at books and pretend to read them and she loves to be read to. She'll eventually understand how to hold the book the right way.
